The Gartner Group believes that Biometrics is absolutely inevitable as an identification technique. According to the International Biometric Group, a research and integration firm that studies the biometrics industry revenues for biometric software and hardware are expected to grow 90% over the next three years, to $594 million by 2003. Biometric technology such as fingerprint, retinal voice and facial recognition can be used to protect systems and save a great deal money lost due to forgotten passwords, fraud and theft.
